Recognized as the New Chairman of Gobardanga, North 24 Parganas
Hon’ble Shri Tushar Ghosh (Kashi Nath) was today accepted as the new Chairman of Gobardanga in North 24 Parganas District. However, in a city like Gobardanga, it is a matter of pride for such a person to be able to get such a seat from a grassroots leader or ward councilor with his own efforts and with the love and blessings of the people Gobardanga.
The town of Gobardanga is one of the oldest popular historical monuments where the oldest municipality is the Gobardanga municipality established in the year 1870. Hon’ble Shri Tushar Ghosh has received his administrative responsibility today.
Sri Tushar Ghosh took charge as the administrator of Gobardanga Municipality on Saturday (21/06/21). However, before announcing this responsibility, there was a lot of speculation about the post of chairman. Administrators were changed more than once a week, which led to confusion among the people.
Since August 16, the administrator has changed twice. The picture was not clear as to who would now be the new administrator in place of Mr. Subhash Dutt, the former chairman of Gobardanga. According to municipal sources, three municipal members have been in charge of Gobardanga municipality since last year; Hon’ble Shri Subhash Dutta, Hon’ble Shri Shankar Dutta, and Smriti Lekha Dutta.
A notification was issued on behalf of the municipality on August 18 stating that the old administrator, i.e. the chairman, has now come to an end. Then the name of Shri Tushar Ghosh, Councilor of Ward №14 of Gobardanga came up as the new administrator. After that various debates started in the municipality premises and also a demonstration was seen among the opposition parties.
As a result, the next day, i.e. on 16th August, the name of a new administrator came up which is Hon’ble Sameer Nandi (Gobardanga city Trinamool Parliament worker). Two days later, the old order was canceled and a notification was issued again. Tushar Ghosh is being made the administrator just like the previous announcement on 16th August.
Then Hon’ble Tushar Ghosh received the official notification in his email. He was also informed by the municipality that he had been handed over the responsibility of administrator and he was congratulated. Finally, on Saturday afternoon, August 21, Hon’ble Shri Tushar Ghosh took charge as the Govardanga Pur Administrator. And he also said there’s no problem with protests anymore. And he started the official work of the municipality from that day.
However, the residents of Gobardanga hope that there will be no more debates so that they can live a better life in peace. And the new chairman is always by their side.
